Online Sales vs. Retail Sales – The Big Battle

comments 0 comments  |  952 reads

Just before Christmas here in Australia, the battle between bricks and mortar retailers versus overseas online sales sites exploded and has now become a topic of national interest and debate.

I have a vested interest in this debate so I’ve kept my personal opinions quiet for the moment. This article from Brendan Hughes of S3 Performance is worth a read as it gives all of us a very different perspective on the (real) issue.

Brendan has started to touch on some of the core issues at play. Food for thought for anyone who feels the need to get wound up about the issue.

There’s one really frustrating aspect to this article – no engagement. I struggle to understand why popular news websites like SMH would run an article like this and not allow users to comment on the article..? It’s like there’s a double standard being displayed by SMH and News – allow comments when the theme of an article goes one way – but not another
