Amazing Service visitors have a voice

A big priority for me is making sure customers have a voice.  Many of an organization’s problems can be overcome by having better conversations with their customers.

Intuitively, we know this. But we don’t always do it. And in some ways it’s harder than in “the good old days” because of how our world has changed.

The good news is we have more tools than ever before to help us connect with our customers.

Here at AmazingServiceGuy.com, we are trying a new breed of tool that helps customers and companies connect better. These feedback applications make it easy and convenient for website visitors to quickly send a comment or make a suggestion to the people who manage a company.

And they do more.

The suggestions and comments submitted are available for others to see and vote on. This is an important change from the traditional forms of feedback. It makes it easier for more people to participate.

Typically less than 10% of customers (or website visitors) will offer feedback or otherwise engage in conversations with a company. Most people will never take time to offer a specific opinion. (There are many reasons for this. Some people are too busy. Others just don’t care to express their opinions that way.)

The downside is, their voices never get heard.

So these new feedback tools (like UserVoice.com, GetSatisfaction.com and CrowdSound.com) make it possible for people to see and vote on other people’s suggestions.  Now people can share their opinions in a way that fits their needs. They can be “heard” even if they do not take the time to describe their thoughts or opinions. All they have to do is point and click.

There are two reasons this is a good thing.

First, it meets customers where they are. Rather than give them only two choices (tell us what you think or do nothing) they now have a third option that’s closer to where many customers are.

Second, it makes it easy and convenient for people to share their opinions. Pointing and clicking is much easier than writing a paragraph or two.

Now we are making this service available to you. Just click on the blue FEEDBACK button on the right side of the screen. This will open a small window in the middle of your screen, showing you some recent feedback. And it will give you a quick link to see other feedback that has been left.

Finally, it makes it easy and convenient for you to leave a comment, offer a suggestion, vote on other comments or just read what other people have posted. And it can all be anonymous. No phone calls, no emails. No hassles.

Go ahead and try it. Then let me know what you think (by leaving feedback) if you want.
